Cecil and Danielle had quite the cold, snowy engagement session, but that just gave them a reason to cuddle in closer. They seriously rocked their session! I can't wait for their wedding, which is coming up SO soon! Only a couple weeks away! Luckily the Des Moines Botanical Gardens will be a bit warmer than this session.
As promised, here is Melissa and Ben's snow engagement photos! They freaking rocked their session in the freezing cold, and look amazingly cute doing so too. I'm glad at least one person I know was praying for snow as hard as I was. And it made a beautiful setting! I think it should snow more often.
I had a lot of fun with this super sweet couple. And do you think they could get any cuter?! I love photographing couples interacting with each other, laughing, snuggling, etc. The candid moments. Photographing who the couple is together. It's seriously the best. I feel like Melissa and I hit it off right away because she really wants an engagement session in the snow. So I assume she loves snow as much as I do. We didn't have snow for this half of their engagement session, but we are both doing snow dances and hoping we can do their snow session soon! Stay tuned for that!
My last 2017 wedding was a great one! Savannah and Ray are the sweetest, most laid back couple. Their intimate ceremony was held at the Des Moines Botanical Gardens. I particularly loved all the flowers around. I also loved all their Harry Potter touches! I kind of a nerd...especially if we are talking Harry Potter. I guess you could say I'm a PotterHead?? Savannah, Ray, and their wedding party totally rocked their outdoor photos. I mean, you can't even tell it was 20 degrees! They make it look like it's 60. I had such a blast with these guys, and can't wait to show them their photos!

It was such a joy to photograph this super sweet couple on their wedding day. They got married at Adrienne's parent's house in Cedar Rapids, IA, and it was a gorgeous, chilly fall day! These two have had a very long journey leading up to their wedding, as Antriksh just jumped through all the hoops to come here from India. I think it's safe to say all the effort was worth it though ;) There was so much joy and laughter during their entire day, but especially during the ceremony. It was a beautiful day, for a beautiful couple. Get ready you two, your gallery of photos is coming soon!

This couple had their engagement session on one of the last beautiful fall days here in Des Moines, Iowa. And what a gorgeous day it was!!! Then to top it off this couple is super adorable, and complete naturals at taking photos! Seriously, I didn't have to direct them AT ALL! They should get into modeling. I loved everything about this session, from Beth and Tjaden, to throwing leaves, to the fall colors.. it was great. Beth and Tjaden are such a sweet couple, and I can't wait for their June wedding!
This couple right here....is one of the most precious, adorable, and fun couple I have yet met. When I first met them, they told me they love competing with each other. For example, when I met them, they were seeing who could read the most books within a certain amount of time. (I think Madisen won.) I love that! I had the privilege of photographing their wedding day, and although it didn't go exactly how anyone planned (it rained almost the entire day), it was absolutely beautiful. We had to go to several locations here in Des Moines due to the rain, and luckily some sun came out for a few minutes right after the ceremony. Despite all of that, everything went smoothly, and everything turned out lovely. This couple deserves all the happiness in the world, and a lifetime of love and joy. I couldn't be more happy for them!
Sabrina and Chase had a gorgeous fall day for their Des Moines engagement shoot. It was filled with fun, laughter (LOTS of laughter), fall colors, and love. We tried out a new "game" I got, and I think it made for some cute photos! Their joy is infectious, and it was so fun to hang out with them. I am definitely looking forward to their wedding next fall!
Lauren and Andrew had such a beautiful wedding! It may have been a little hot..but still beautiful! They had their ceremony in a catholic church in West Des Moines, had some fun in a park, and their reception at Holiday Inn and Suites. Andrew's dad did their ceremony, which was a wonderful, personal touch. Lauren was just radiating classic beauty. She looked so elegant. It was a privilege to capture all the love throughout their day. It was totally obvious that they are head over heels in love with each other. It was also so fun to see them let loose on the dance floor at the reception. Especially when one of the groomsmen started rapping. What a great day!

These two high school sweethearts had such a beautiful engagement session! The weather and location were perfect. And they are pretty easy to photograph in my opinion. Their session was in Winterset, IA, pretty close to Des Moines, at the historical society. We had fun hanging out with a cat and some funny looking chickens (the chickens aren't pictured here). They also danced in a gazebo, and I felt like I was watching a scene from The Sound of Music. "I am sixteen...going on seventeen.." I had such a fun time with this couple!! What a beautiful couple!!
I am SO excited about this gorgeous wedding!! One of my favorites to date for sure! Adam and Megan are one of the sweetest couples I have met, and the location they picked was absolutely perfect. These two have been serving in Laos together, and came back to Iowa to get married, and enjoy married life for a bit before going back. They had a very sweet moment together before the ceremony, without seeing each other, sharing some laughs, and praying together. I loved all the beautiful details they incorporated into their day. They had hand-painted lanterns from Laos, and a lovely hand-painted pitcher that was passed down from Megan's great-grandmother that they used for their foot-washing ceremony. There were so many sweet moments, and just so much that I loved about this wedding. I wish Adam and Megan a lifetime of happiness and blessings!! Thank you for allowing me to photograph your special day!
I wasn't able to meet Danelle and Dave before their wedding day, but boy was I glad we hit it off so well! Who wouldn't get along with such a fun wedding party?! The guys had cigars and fun socks, and the girls had tattoos and drinks. And they were all a BLAST! They had a beautiful wedding at King's Pointe Resort in Storm Lake, IA, a bit of a drive from Des Moines, but so worth it! It was a joy to photograph their wedding.
I can't wait to meet this couple's little girl. Alicia and I work together, and I knew as soon as she announced her pregnancy that she would have a girl. I just had a feeling. Sure enough! I had the great privilege of taking her maternity photos with Jason. Yellow Banks Park in Runnells, IA, not far from Des Moines, made an almost perfect setting for their photos (it would've been absolutely perfect if not for the mosquitoes). You can tell they are both super excited to be parents, and I bet this little girl will be a daddy's girl! Enjoy a few photos from their session!
Madisen and Kenny are such a sweet couple, and I had a blast photographing their engagement session. It was a little chilly, cloudy, windy, and I think they were a bit nervous, but they both ROCKED their session. I'm pretty sure they could be models if they wanted to. And can you believe this beautiful field is in Des Moines, Iowa?? I'm so glad we decided to go there! I can't wait to photograph this beautiful couple again at their October wedding!
I love winter...yes, a lot of people think I'm crazy for that. I would say it's my favorite season. I like all the seasons, but I like winter the best. However, when spring comes and all the trees bloom..it almost makes me think spring is my favorite. It's definitely a close second! A VERY close second! If only the trees would bloom all summer long..
This spring I had the privilege of photographing Danielle and Robby, who are going to be new parents in just a few short weeks. Danielle is such a beautiful mom! And you can just see how much Robby loves her. We walked around Water Works park in Des Moines, IA, where all the trees bloom at the same time. It is GORGEOUS. The perfect setting for taking maternity photos of these two.
Without further ado..here's a sneak peak!
Lauren and Andrew are pretty much the sweetest couple ever. Their session was filled with laughter, smiles, giggles, and sweet moments. They made my job easy! It's obvious how much they love each other, and it was such a joy to photograph their engagement session. I can't wait for their September wedding!
